Are lawyers required to have professional liability insurance?

Return to Videos

Transcript:

In Rhode Island, attorneys are not required to have professional liability insurance, although all attorneys ought to have it. It just makes perfect sense. There is an exception. If an attorney is practicing as part of a firm that is a corporation or a limited liability partnership or a limited liability company, there is a legal requirement to have professional malpractice insurance.
