Do bicyclists automatically have the right-of-way?

Return to Videos

Transcript:

Bicycles do not automatically have the right of way. They are vehicles under Rhode Island law and they are required to follow the same rules as all other vehicles, particularly motor vehicles. There are some occasions when other vehicles, like buses, trucks, other cars on the road, they need to give special consideration for bicycle lists, but by and large, there is no automatic right of way for a bicycle operator.
