Who will pay for my rental car following my Rhode Island car accident?

Return to Videos

Transcript:

In Rhode Island, when you are involved in a car accident, the responsibility for paying for your rental car falls on the party that was at fault. If the other driver acknowledges they were at fault, their insurance company will pay for it. If they contest that, you will have to prove to their satisfaction that they were at fault. In the meantime, if you have rental car coverage on your own auto policy, you can have your insurance company pay for the rental car up to the amount of coverage that you purchased.
